Paul Pogba on Messi and the 2018 World Cup

Paul Pogba admits he never asked a player he defeated for forgiveness, nor a national team in his life, until the moment Argentina fell at the 2018 World Cup. After the match ended, he approached Lionel Messi to say sorry and ask for forgiveness because Messi did not deserve to lose that game. The situation highlights how Messi lost four finals, retired from the game, then came back to lead Argentina again. Pogba insists Messi deserves three World Cups but was held back by circumstances that simply didn't help him out. He calls Messi a humble player who never admits he is the best player, which is exactly why he holds that title. For Messi to win the World Cup is something very normal and nothing extraordinary to Pogba, who respects him very much given how much he gave to football. #PaulPogba
