Istrebitel Sputnikov Satellite Destroyer

🇷🇺 Russia has suicide bomber satellites Istrebitel Sputnikov, the Satellite Destroyer: A maneuverable interceptor satellite that approaches a target and detonates a shrapnel warhead, the suicide drone concept in space. Development began in the early 1960s under Vladimir Chelomei. Prototypes (Polyot-1/2) flew in 1963–64, with successful intercept tests (including target destruction) from 1968 onward. It reached limited operational status in the 1970s–80s. With current events, Russia could easily revive the old concept and prototypes for 2026. -> Space weapons are something Russia worked on extensively previously.
