Los Angeles Democrats and immigration activists claim ICE raids will discourage voter turnout in the midterms but that logic collapses since illegal aliens cannot legally vote. CHIRLA is deploying legal observers to polling locations across the state anyway while DHS made it clear they will find, arrest, and prosecute non-citizens who vote including criminal charges and deportation. The Department of Homeland Security statement confirms those concerns are unfounded. The reaction reads as panic from a group contradicting themselves against a perfect federal warning.
