The Dreamers 1968 Paris protests

The Dreamers doesn't just use cinema, sex, and rebellion as its surface. Youth, freedom, identity, and the fantasy of a world reality can't touch are all in there too, examined with real care. Set during the 1968 Paris protests, the film captures a contradiction: young people who dream of revolution while staying locked inside their own private universe. Underneath the provocative stuff, this is a coming-of-age story about how beautiful youthful idealism can be, and the moment reality finally breaks through. The idealism is gorgeous. The collision is what stays with you.
