The America First faction remains fractured over whether Donald Trump should launch an attack or withdraw, a decision made while Israel reportedly placed itself on full alert following drills in which Iran allegedly fired 30 missiles. Matt Tardio argues that withdrawing now would cede control of the strait to Iran and allow it to price Gulf oil in yuan, contending that removing the Iranian regime is the only viable path forward. Robert Barnes characterizes Israeli alerts as pre-election political theater by a prime minister seeking to frighten the public, stating Trump has been advised against restarting hostilities before November 3. He estimates a military strike could cost Republicans up to 58 House seats without improving Gulf safety. The discussion covers the JCPOA, the economic impact of sanctioning Russian oil on Moscow, and succession planning for Iran. This debate is described as occurring within the White House context of active bomber preparations and two simultaneous elections.
