Horror films are riding a serious surge at the US BoxOffice, and exhibitors have already locked in over 3.500 theatres for DCU's first body horror flick CLAYFACE. This is shaping up to be one of the widest horror releases of 2026, with a theatre count that almost matches the 3.612 spots SUPERGIRL commanded during its opening weekend as a traditional summer blockbuster. There are still ten days left before release, and if reactions stay positive, more screens could easily join the lineup. Don't be surprised if Clayface ends up with an even wider spread and potentially beats SUPERGIRL's opening numbers, that would genuinely be a shocker.
