Frenkie de Jong Barcelona tactic

Barcelona's midfield is stacked with Pedri, Rodri, Gavi, Fermín López, Dani Olmo, and Marc Bernal all battling for the same spots. That sheer volume of talent in the middle of the park is reportedly why Hansi Flick is testing Frenkie de Jong out at centre-back instead of leaving him where he usually operates. The whole angle here seems to be that moving De Jong could actually unlock the lineup, letting more high-quality players start together without forcing anyone onto the bench. It's a genuine tactical experiment to see if shifting positions helps fit everyone in. But honestly, does this make sense? Should we trust Flick enough to move Frenkie de Jong into defence, or is he too valuable in midfield? I'm genuinely curious what you guys think about this potential role change before it becomes official.
