Kamala Harris called out the US for failing to meet moral obligations on human rights and international law, noting this lapse happened under both the current administration and her own. She argued that leverage was never used to limit what she described as horrific conduct by the Israeli government during the war in Gaza. Harris pointed out that while the Trump administration gave Prime Minister Netanyahu a blank check, her team should have stepped in sooner and with more force regarding Israel's military operations. Speaking at The Asan Institute for Policy Studies, she emphasized that the failure to act forcefully was a shared shortcoming across administrations rather than an isolated incident.
