Cockroach movement founder detained in India

Abhijeet Dipke, who started the "Cockroach" movement against the government, was taken into custody. So were two other leaders of the group, and thousands of people protesting on Saturday. Among those detained: journalists, opposition politicians, lawyers, and student union leaders. The crowds had gathered to call for the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar, the country's Chief Election Commissioner, over claims that revisions to voter lists were done in a way that helped Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling party. It wasn't just organizers who got swept up. The net went wide, catching the whole mix of people who turned out.
