What gets me about a lioness is how two things can be true at once. Out there, where everything is survival, she still finds room for tenderness with her cub, and that gentleness lands harder than any show of force. Love and protection run deep as instinct, not something we invented. Wild beauty, sure, but the gentle kind. Could anything be more heartwarming?
