Mother buys son phone he destroys
The gift was never the point. A mother spent what she had earned herself on a new phone for her son, hoping the sight of it would put a smile on his face. To him, it apparently wasn't enough. What followed: the phone thrown down hard, in her presence, while she could only watch. Nothing about that moment left her with any power over it. A purchase made from her own wages, and a reaction that wiped out the gesture in seconds, with her standing there as it all came apart.
