Too Cool Royal Rumble 2000 dance

Every time the Royal Rumble rolls around, that clip of the Too Cool dance gets reposted and blows up online. Scotty 2 Hotty says having this moment is a blessing because it was the defining point that made their entire career. He explains that timing was everything since doing the routine just two weeks earlier likely would have failed to get the same reaction from the crowd. The group spent those four or five weeks leading up to the event conditioning the audience so they knew exactly what was coming when only the three of them were on screen. It all happened in New York City where the reactions are extreme, either loving you or hating you. Scotty recalls being the new white meat babyface who got booed out of the building as a rookie, contrasting that with the later experience of being loved by the same fans. He argues that if you can win over New York, you can get anybody to love you. That shift from getting booed to being adored by the same crowd was essential for gaining universal acceptance in the WWF. #NewYorkCity
