    2024 Global Pork Production Rankings

Pork stays one of the biggest animal protein sources on the planet, and the production map is heavily stacked in Asia, Europe, and the Americas. When you look at the 2024 numbers from FAOSTAT, China alone accounts for about 45.5% of all recorded pork output, which translates to a massive 57.06 million tonnes standing way ahead of everyone else. The United States comes in second place with 12.61 million tonnes, followed by Brazil taking third spot with 5.36 million tonnes. Spain produced 4.96 million tonnes, Russia made 4.94 million tonnes, Germany brought in 4.29 million tonnes, Vietnam added 3.79 million tonnes, Canada contributed 2.28 million tonnes, France supplied 2.09 million tonnes, Poland generated 1.91 million tonnes, Mexico turned out 1.88 million tonnes, South Korea produced 1.46 million tonnes, the Philippines added 1.41 million tonnes, the Netherlands created 1.39 million tonnes, Denmark made 1.32 million tonnes, Japan and Italy both hit 1.26 million tonnes each, and the United Kingdom finished the list with 960,800 tonnes. There are also Belgium at 945,200 tonnes and Thailand at 940,000 tonnes rounding out the top twenty. The global total across 171 countries reporting data for 2024 sits at approximately 125.34 million tonnes, with China holding that 45.5% share of the whole pie. It is important to remember these figures measure meat of pig with the bone, fresh or chilled, in tonnes rather than counting pigs or slaughter numbers. All this data comes from FAOSTAT 2024 with calculations and presentation done by Terra Cultiva.
