In 2024 India took the top spot globally with 7.34 million tonnes, which is about 36% of the reported global total. The FAO lists India, Sudan, and Pakistan as major players in this sector. Looking at the full ranking for 2024, Sudan comes in second with 1.14 million tonnes. Pakistan follows at third place with 1.07 million tonnes. Bangladesh rounds out the top four with 1.05 million tonnes. France takes fifth with 703,200 tonnes. South Sudan is sixth at 500,400 tonnes. Türkiye lands seventh with 482,200 tonnes. Spain is eighth producing 470,200 tonnes. The Netherlands ranks ninth with 463,900 tonnes. Niger sits at tenth with 449,200 tonnes. Somalia is eleventh with 375,200 tonnes. Indonesia comes in twelfth at 362,600 tonnes. Greece holds thirteenth place with 337,800 tonnes. Algeria is fourteenth with 320,800 tonnes. Iran ranks fifteenth with 319,300 tonnes. Mali is sixteenth at 300,600 tonnes. Venezuela takes seventeenth with 284,100 tonnes. Kenya rounds out the top eighteen with 279,200 tonnes. Tanzania holds the nineteenth spot with 268,900 tonnes. Russia finishes twentieth with 240,900 tonnes. The data covers 20.39 million tonnes across 113 countries with available 2024 observations. These figures measure raw goat-milk production in tonnes and exclude goat population counts or total milk from other livestock species.
