US Department of War solar power from space

Solar panels in orbit, energy shot back down to the ground in beams. That's the pitch the US Department of War is putting money behind, an actual funded effort to pull power from space. Satellites built out with massive arrays do the collecting up there, then the juice gets beamed toward us. Futuristic grid stuff, sure, but the paperwork is real.
