Tom Cruise Digger opening box office

So MichaelDeLuca and PamelaAbdy are on their way out of their roles, and the timing could not be worse for AlejandroGIñárritu. DIGGER pulled $3.4 million on its opening day in the US, with $1.2 million of that coming from previews, and the three-day weekend is tracking somewhere between $7 million and $10 million. That range sits below what the industry was already calling pessimistic, which means TomCruise may be looking at his weakest opening in two decades at the US BoxOffice. For comparison: TheBride managed $3 million, Mickey17 and Napoleon each hit $7.7 million, VanillaSky did $8.9 million, and CivilWar landed at $10.8 million. With VISTAVISION and IMAX C+ on the poster and a CinemaScore logo attached, none of that premium sheen is translating into tickets. #TomCruise
