Lionel Messi watching CD Eldense win

Lionel Messi is at his home in Rosario, and he is celebrating. CD Eldense, the second division team he purchased, won a match on the day this was written, and the official announcement of his purchase came yesterday. The whole thing is genuinely wild if you sit with it for a second. Picture being in the second division and finding out your club's new owner is Lionel Messi. That kind of news does something to a squad's motivation that no team talk can replicate. Leo does not miss matches of his teams. That is just a fact about him, and it is why the owner label fits so naturally. Meanwhile, Argentina fans are still carrying the sadness of his farewell match, which makes the contrast hit even harder. He is over here building something new while everyone else is grieving. A true example of an owner, and honestly impossible not to love.
