Gerson Rodrigues tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo

Gerson Rodrigues took to IG to lay out exactly why Cristiano Ronaldo is something else entirely, and the way he put it breaks my heart. He started by saying he faced you seven times on the pitch, and every single time he looked across the field, he saw something that wasn't human. You moved like an extraterrestrial, a being of pure determination and unstoppable power who doesn't belong in this world. Every clash with you taught me what happens when you transcend human limits, but that's not even the part that hurts the most. It's seeing an extraterrestrial who put Portugal on the map, made the world know our flag, and was the heartbeat of our nation treated without the respect you deserve right now as the end approaches. When I tell people I'm from Portugal, they immediately ask about Ronaldo, and honestly? It hurts because you were more than just a player. You were the voice of Portugal before the world, and seeing your country treat you this way when you're nearing the finish line is what saddens me the most.
