The whole thing started because Portuguese media basically forced Jorge Jesus to talk with Cristiano Ronaldo about a situation where there was no situation at all. Jesus explained that he had to call the meeting even though he didn't understand what was being said in Portugal, noting there was nothing actually worth discussing. During the conversation, Cristiano made it clear he would accept whatever decision came down: if Jesus wanted him on the pitch, he'd play; if not, he wouldn't; and if the choice was for him to sit in the stands, he'd go to the stands without complaint. After they finished dinner, everything was already sorted out, with Jesus characterizing the entire drama as something that wasn't even a problem to begin with.
