So the Abu Dhabi United Group, which owns Manchester City, is the one who paid £830.69M of that money. Not the sponsors. Those payments got logged as "Marked Sums." The sponsors themselves only handed over £119.25M directly. Which leaves the bigger number: £949.94 MILLION in commercial revenue tied to Abu Dhabi sponsors across 2009 to 2018. Nearly £950M on the books, and over £830M of it traces straight back to the club's owners. That is the part that keeps the City case alive and kicking, and honestly it is not hard to see why people are still arguing about it.
