Zahara Jolie name change

Spelman already knew. When Zahara walked at graduation, the name read out was Zahara Marley Jolie, no hyphen, no Pitt, and that was before any judge signed off on it. Now the paperwork has caught up. Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt is legally Zahara Marley Jolie, which makes her the third of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's six kids to shed the Pitt half, after Shiloh, Maddox, and Vivienne either filed the same request or quietly stopped using it. The blueprint was in the family the whole time. Angelina Jolie arrived with the surname Voight, and in 2002 she took her father Jon Voight out of her own name after he went on TV and claimed she had serious mental problems. A daughter doing the same to her father is not a new move in this house. It is a rerun. Where it gets interesting is the labeling. Someone close to Brad Pitt reads the whole thing as alienation. The court reads it as a name change and files it accordingly. Both descriptions can sit in the same folder without either one being wrong, which is probably the most honest thing about any of this. One less hyphen. One less father on the document. The children keep landing on the same side of the line.
