Michael Jackson press conference camera game

The press conference had barely started and Michael Jackson was already clocking it: shift your head an inch, shutters start firing. Wave a hand, same burst. So he started messing with them on purpose, little playful movements, and every single time the photographers bit. Right on cue. You can watch the exact second it lands on his face, the smile creeping in as he catches the rhythm of it. For a few beats the whole room turned into a back and forth between him and the lenses, him testing, them responding, him testing again, and honestly it's the smallness of it that gets me. No stadium. No choreography. No pyro. Just a guy at a mic figuring out in real time that his body is basically a trigger for flashbulbs. Which is wild when you stack it next to how we normally picture him, the enormous crowds, the elaborate performances, the media machine that never once looked away. Here it's stripped down to something way more human. Even Michael Jackson looked like he couldn't quite believe what being Michael Jackson actually meant. Amused by it, sure, but surprised too. That's the whole thing, and it's enough.
