DreamWorks' original animation ForgottenIsland saw its weekend box office numbers climb thanks to positive word-of-mouth driving US performance. The three-day opening grossed $13 million, edging out StrangeWorld ($12.2M), PussInBootsTheLastWish ($12.4M), and Migration ($12.5M) while sitting below TheBadGuys ($24M), Encanto ($27.2M), Elemental ($29.6M), and TheWildRobot ($35.8M). With an $80 million production budget that excludes marketing costs, there is hope that domestic and international word-of-mouth combined with awards discussion will sustain the film's run.
