Manchuria Opium Squad resumes

The historical action drama Manchuria Opium Squad is officially resuming publication on Oct 5, 2026, bringing two fresh chapters to Weekly Young Magazine. This continuation honors the original artist Shikako, who passed away last year from cancer but left a clear wish for the series to carry on. Tsukasa Monma remains the writer while Tsurushima steps in as the new illustrator, having previously served as an assistant alongside Shikako during their work on Kingdom. The upcoming release holds special significance because the first of the two chapters was actually drawn by Shikako before her passing, making it her final contribution, whereas the second chapter is being completed entirely by Tsurushima.
