Destin Daniel Cretton Sony three-year deal

Sony is handing Destin Daniel Cretton a three-year overall deal, per reports. The arrangement means anything new from his production company goes to Sony first. What it doesn't do is tie him down as a director. He can still shoot for any studio he wants, and he's already got a Naruto live-action film set up at Lionsgate plus a HawaiiFiveO reboot in the works at Paramount before he signs on for any other directing job. Still, the studio's hope here isn't subtle. They expect this production deal to bring Cretton back behind the camera for another Spidey movie before too long. That's the play when you've got a director who just delivered with the SpiderManBrandNewDay brand.
