Guardiola compares Raphinha to Mahrez

Pep Guardiola opened up about his time at Leeds United, admitting Raphinha caught his eye back then. The manager wanted to bring the player over to Manchester City, but there was a major obstacle in Riyad Mahrez already occupying that spot. Guardiola didn't hold back on how good Mahrez was, calling him sensational and unbeatable with speed, dribbles, and passing that covered everything. While Raphinha was clearly following a similar trajectory to the Egyptian star, he simply hadn't reached that specific level yet when the decision came down.
