Cody Rhodes gives soul to Ava instead of The Rock

People keep saying Cody Rhodes refuses to play a bad guy, but he just dropped that he was actually ready to go villain if it worked. During the 'What Do You Wanna Talk About?' segment, he admitted that when The Rock asked for his soul, he considered flipping the script entirely by giving it to Ava instead while Simone Johnson was serving as NXT General Manager. He kept that wild idea locked down between himself and Johnson, never telling The Final Boss a thing about it. Rhodes figured having Ava speak on his behalf would have been an absolute crushing twist with serious legs because he wouldn't have said a word again. He's clearly open to all things if it serves the best outcome for the story rather than sticking to the perception that he avoids being a bad guy. That specific spin where she takes over his voice is what he thought would've been a real good move for the narrative.
