Witch and Mercenary is officially getting a dark fantasy anime adaptation, and the reveal is a whole mood. April 2027 is when it lands, with 8bit handling the animation. The premise: magic doesn't exist in this world, and an Extermination Squad is actively hunting down the last remaining witch. After a mission goes sideways, one mercenary who survived decides to switch sides and protect her instead. Their journey carries the story forward until she finally reaches somewhere she can live in peace. The copyright credits list Chohokiteki Kaeru, Kanase Bench, Micro Magazine, and the Majo to Youhei Production Committee. This one has me hyped for the long haul.
