Anne Hathaway Black Cat Spider-Man 4

Math is math: scrapping a superhero gig can accidentally unlock an iconic one. Anne Hathaway landed the Black Cat spot opposite Tobey Maguire for SPIDER-MAN 4, yet the whole production fell apart before she ever stepped into costume or read past audition sides. She notes she got the part but adds that the full cancellation story is probably more the producers' story to tell than hers. That collapse did something wild though; it cleared her schedule wide open. This availability let her swing over to take the Catwoman role in Christopher Nolan's THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Honestly, the vibe of one cancelled lead leading to another legend is genuinely remarkable. With the MCU multiverse open, she could potentially reprise that character again.
