The Uprising CinemaScore B

Another modern Robin Hood story just met the same skepticism audiences have always shown for this angle. Andrew Garfield's R-rated historical epic The Uprising opened to a B- CinemaScore, which matches the 2010 Robin Hood rating exactly. It trails the 2018 Robin Hood, Robin Hood: Man in Tights, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves scores while still beating out The Death of Robin Hood's C+. Compared to other historical epics, it sits level with Napoleon but falls short of Gladiator II, The Last Duel, and The Odyssey. This outcome mirrors the doubt faced by previous attempts at updating the legend, as seen on www.cinemascore.com.
