The note Curry Barker kept getting from OBSESSION test screenings: viewers wanted Bear out there actually rescuing Nikki. Why wasn't he digging deeper, doing the work to solve it? That pushback landed on deaf ears by design. Barker's answer was simple. Fixing things was never the plan for that character.
