Sony drops PHYSINT Xbox picks up

The more you stare at Sony walking away from PHYSINT, the less it adds up. Bloomberg says they cut ties because costs were climbing, deadlines got missed, Death Stranding didn't hit numbers, and they worried about keeping exclusivity permanent. It's wild that these risks weren't glaringly obvious when the project dropped in 2024. Death Stranding was always gonna be a weird, niche ride anyway. This game was supposed to drag Kojima back into the action-espionage space he basically invented. Instead, Sony bailed and Xbox stepped in to grab it. Honestly, for PlayStation, this feels like a massive opportunity they just let slip through their fingers. #HideoKojima
