Jensen Ackles actually wanted SUPERNATURAL to cross over with either VAMPIRE DIARIES or THE WALKING DEAD at some point. He dropped a specific scenario where they'd nuke the vampires or cut a deal with AMC for THE WALKING DEAD so the Impala could just roll in and end it all. That's the kind of chaotic energy he was hoping for instead of keeping things contained within one universe.
