    Netflix LaBolaNegra box office reporting

With Global BoxOffice gaining momentum - and no much chatter going on around Netflix rankings - the biggest streamer of all wants to be part of the cinematic convo, announcing today it will start to report BoxOffice grosses for 6 upcoming theatrical releases including LaBolaNegra, first Netflix release to have a full 45-day theatrical window starting on OCT 16, ahead of its streaming debut on DEC 02. Netflix finally understood what Amazon & Apple have known all along: there is no way for a streamer’s film to gain real Cultural Relevance bypassing theatrical release and the weekly chatter during its BoxOffice run. Don’t get distracted: Netflix still secretly hates theatres & wished everyone watched films at home. They are just taking advantage of this theatrical bounce back to get some credibility to their own more prestigious releases, in hopes of boosting their viewership & longevity within their own platform, and give them better chances during awards season.
