DARKWING DUCK hit its 35th anniversary today. The concept started as a DuckTales spinoff with Launchpad McQuack in a secret agent role, but Disney couldn't use the title Double-O Duck. Creator Tad Stones then developed a new protagonist named Drake Mallard, also known as Darkwing Duck.
