    Evan cancer survivor story

It hurts to bring it back up, honestly. Evan was diagnosed with cancer at a young age, and the treatment process wasn't easy, but seeing how his mom took care of him nonstop made him want to put on a brave face for her. When the hospital held events like talent shows for patients, he'd play guitar and even host them. He dreamed of being a singer ever since he was six, but to be honest, back then he didn't really have the mental bandwidth to even think about that. He watched friends pass away and kept thinking, "I want to live so badly, I want to go home." Thankfully he made it through treatment and got to go on with his life, but fitting back in with his friends wasn't easy. He had a lot less energy, and since his hair was still growing back from chemo, he got teased a lot for it. Friends would ask, "What is that, grass? You're like a monk." But he just took it because he wanted to fit in. Once he got to middle school, he had some good friends, but he wasn't as outgoing as before. He became more of an introvert. He hasn't thought about that in a long time.
