Man United wage mismanagement under Ed Woodward

INEOS are blaming Ed-Woodward & The Glazers for Manchester United not being successful in the recent years. When Sir Alex Ferguson retired and David Gill stepped down from his role in United, The Glazers gave Ed-Woodward more power and they promoted him to CEO of the club as he was crucial on their takeover negotiations about United in 2005. Ed-Woodward main objective was not performance on the pitch but off the pitch with commercial deals and selling jerseys as much as possible. He was not a ‘’football first’’ and the club made some of the biggest mistakes on his regime. He was the one leading negotiations with Dortmund for Sancho in the first summer when we tried to sign him Sancho had a ‘personal agreement’ already agreed with a wage of around £150k per week. But when he didn’t reach agreement with Dortmund over the transfer, Sancho’s agents realized that United will come again calling the next year and that they can ask for whatever they want in wages. The next year they asked for £300k per week and big bonuses for them, and Ed-Woodward agreed to that. He increased Sancho’s wage from £50k per week in Dortmund to £300k per week! 🤯 He gave Anthony Martial who has not completed a full season for the last 6-7yrs without getting Injured game in and game out a new deal of £250k per week. 🤯 He gave Di Maria a wage of £350k per week from £150k per week that he was on Real Madrid. 🤯 And the cherry on top, he offered Alexis Sanches a wage bill of £450k per week, even though he knew that he doesn’t want to play for our club and only money was the motivation of his move to United. The level of mismanagement at this club is next level, it will take time for INEOS to recover from all this and fix all the mistakes we made over the years. 🤒🤯
