    Fizi High Plateaus Security Situation

Tuesday, September 2 at 15:00 marked a severe deterioration in the security situation across the Fizi High Plateaus in South Kivu, DRC. Local sources contacted by LA VOIX DU KIVU are reporting that elements of the AFC/M23/Twirwaneho coalition have shifted their movement away from the Point Zero axis and are advancing toward Kanguli and Mulima. These same sources indicate the coalition pushed forward from Avocat/Asolelo all the way to the road junction near Point Zero, Kanguli, and Mulima. Simultaneously, reports claim that FARDC Hibou unit elements and their allies are retreating from their current positions, moving toward Elúmbe in the Tanganyika sector, Balala-Nord groupment, and Mukela. The ground situation remains incredibly confused and is still evolving with no official casualty toll available at this moment.
