Gareth Bale on missed recognition

People refuse to admit the best goal in Champions League history was scored by Gareth Bale against Liverpool just because of his name. That's the real issue behind why he feels forgotten after that final and the one versus Atlético Madrid where his team stood two minutes from defeat before winning 4-1. He says his contributions to those victories are completely erased from the record books despite doing great in both finals. The frustration goes back to Real Madrid training sessions where he claims he was the best free-kick taker and finisher, yet Cristiano Ronaldo got preferred for all dead balls except corner kicks even though Bale always had a higher scoring rate in practice. It comes down to injuries stopping him from being in the same debate as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, which is exactly what he states would have happened otherwise.
