Honestly, the whole Age of Ultron storyline feels like it belongs in a third Ironman movie instead. Imagine Tony freaking out and getting paranoid after that New York attack, then rushing to finish the Ultron project just to prep Earth so he can actually retire from what he promised Pepper. That setup makes way more sense than what happened. Then you could save the second Avengers film for a villain tied directly to Thanos, which would have created a much smoother transition into Infinity War without all the weird detours.
