Patrice Evra on Kobbie Mainoo

The player Manchester United supporters have been waiting for has finally arrived, and Patrice Evra says it comes down to how Michael Carrick shifted Kobbie Mainoo's mindset. you can actually see the difference in confidence when Mainoo receives the ball now. he is playing with freedom, taking on more responsibility, and honestly not afraid of making mistakes anymore. Evra points out that sometimes young players don't need another coach telling them what to do every single second. they just need someone who believes in them enough to let them play freely. Carrick has given Kobbie exactly that belief, and suddenly we are seeing the real version of him that fans always knew was hiding there underneath. it fits perfectly with the idea that excessive instruction can hold back talent rather than help it.
