Sami Zayn finally lifting the WWE Championship at Night of Champions is a moment Kevin Owens says was incredibly special, even though he wasn't there in person to witness it. Owens explained that seeing his friend achieve the biggest dream he ever had in wrestling felt incredible because they have been linked for roughly 23 to 24 years of their careers. Their history is described as crazy with them going everywhere together and people bringing them together everywhere before Sami went to WWE and Owens followed suit, then getting to the main roster while Sami followed suit really soon after so they were constantly neck and neck. They have been partners and enemies, partners and enemies, but through it all the one thing that remains constant is that they are more like brothers than friends since you don't get to choose your family and this is the family you have. Me and Sami didn't have a choice because they are very different people who got booked together everywhere and had to spend 10, 12 hours in a car together driving to shows and another 10, 12 hours back. They struggled together and saw each other succeed with no other choice but to create this bond that now exists regardless of whether they are trying to kill each other or trying to win Tag Team Titles together. There were times where they didn't think it would happen for him to win that title after working so hard for it for so long, which makes seeing him actually get to do it feel so special. The only regret Owens has is that he couldn't be there in person when the title was won, but he made sure a few days later he went to Raw just to be able to see him in person with the belt. It was very special to see somebody that you shared so much with on the road and throughout your whole career and beyond that point because they both saw each other get married and have kids and have been through their life together at this point.
