Rio Ferdinand on Manchester United Champions League return

Rio Ferdinand is speaking about Manchester United returning to the Champions League and how it feels different compared to his past experiences. He notes that the club has a history in this competition that speaks for itself and he was lucky enough to be part of a team that lived for these nights filled with pressure, atmosphere, expectation, and the feeling of walking out knowing millions of people are watching. That specific feeling is what Manchester United have missed while being away from this stage. You look at the draw and you see Bayern, Atlético and some really good European sides but for him that is exactly where United should be because you do not build the history this club has by looking for the easy route. The Champions League is about nights that test you and it is about Old Trafford under the lights, the fans believing, and the players standing up when the pressure is at its highest. United have been away from this stage but now they are back and this is not just about qualifying for the Champions League but about reminding Europe that Manchester United belong here since the club built its history by not looking for the easy route. The history is already written and now this generation has the chance to write their own chapter.
