Archbishop Paul Gallagher meets Sergey Lavrov

Archbishop Paul Gallagher, the Vatican Secretary for Relations with States, held talks in Moscow with Sergey Lavrov. This marked the first face-to-face meeting between officials from the Vatican and Russia in five years. Standing beside Lavrov, the Archbishop stated that every day the war continues creates new victims and moves reconciliation even further away. He emphasized that ending it is urgent and necessary. Earlier in July, he visited Ukraine as the Pope's envoy, concluding that trip with Zelenskyy. On Wednesday, he is set to meet Ushakov, who serves as Putin's foreign policy advisor.
