Darby Allin on AEW early days

Darby Allin believes that during the first year, some AEW talent treated the promotion like a permanent spring break. He describes an environment where individuals focused on having fun and hanging out with friends under the assumption they had jobs for life, lacking a clear mission. This attitude stood in contrast to his own perspective, as he felt compelled to demonstrate what the company could achieve because it fundamentally altered the wrestling landscape. Before AEW launched, Darby did not believe another major competitor was possible and actually thought the lack of competition was detrimental. Once the company formed, his stance shifted entirely. He became willing to do anything to be part of the roster and recognized early on that he needed to conclude his career there. While Darby saw the significance of AEW from the start, he does not think many others shared that level of awareness or appreciation at the time. The comments were reported by WolkenRob for ForbesSports. #DarbyAllin
