Zac Efron Vanessa Hudgens High School Musical

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens crossed paths in 2005 during the Disney Channel auditions for High School Musical, a massive casting call where they joined roughly forty other guys competing through singing, dancing, and scene readings. The process kept matching them up repeatedly, and their chemistry was visible right away. Vanessa was fifteen at the time and later noted she thought Zac was cute immediately. Both actors have said they clicked from the beginning and created a bond from the start as they worked through those initial rounds together. Eventually, the team picked them to play Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez, the main couple driving the story of High School Musical. Their on-screen connection quickly evolved into a real romance while shooting the first film. They dated for several years while starring in the High School Musical trilogy, solidifying their place as one of the most recognizable young couples from Disney in the 2000s.
