Ivan Zamorano 1+8 Inter Milan Ronaldo

Ivan Zamorano explains the story behind his unique 1+8 jersey at Inter Milan. He says the idea started when the best player in the world arrived and he had to give him the number 9. Sporting director Sandro Mazzola told Zamorano to pick a number that included the 9, but Zamorano asked for a plus sign which Mazzola initially rejected. Zamorano then spoke with president Massimo Moratti, who contacted the Italian Federation to get approval for the special number. Zamorano also reflects on playing with Ronaldo, calling him the greatest player he has ever been teammates with. He admits the only thing he did better than Ronaldo was scoring headers. According to Zamorano, Ronaldo was complete with his left foot, right foot, power, skill, and magic. He notes that Ronaldo was even better in training than on weekends and describes him as a phenomenon.
