The movie pulled in a massive 71M during a non-holiday boosted 3rd 3-day weekend, setting a new record for that specific slot despite seeing a -50.8% drop from the previous week. When you look at other heavy hitters like Endgame which saw a 63.3M drop (-57.1%) or DeadpoolAndWolverine with a 53.8M drop (-44.5%), this performance stands out even more. After just 15 days, the domestic cumulative total has hit 786.8M, placing the film 63M ahead of where Endgame was at the same stage even though it only started 3M ahead. With a projected US run between 910M and 960M, a finish above 900M is locked in and would make it the 2nd film in history to reach that milestone while giving it a real shot at beating TheForceAwakens' 11-year-old record for highest grossing film of all time in the US. Looking back at the top BIGGEST 3rd 3-day weekends of ALL TIME in the U.S., TheForceAwakens holds the lead with 90.2M (holiday boosted), followed by SpiderManBrandNewDay at 71M, Avatar with 68.5M (holiday boosted), AvatarTheWayOfWater at 67.4M (holiday boosted), and BlackPanther with 66.3M (holiday boosted).
