China condemns Taiwan Han Kuang drills

China has issued a sharp condemnation of the 10-day Han Kuang military exercises held by Taiwan. Beijing described the drills as a "wasteful farce" that actively fuels "war panic." Officials accused the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) of transforming urban centers into potential battlefields. They also charged the DPP with turning civilians into frontline participants in the conflict. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) remains on high alert, according to Beijing. The PLA stated it is prepared to counter "separatism and external interference." Reuters reported on the developments regarding the annual drills.
