Hayao Miyazaki Nausicaä Manga Origin

Hayao Miyazaki decided to create the "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" manga because his initial film concept was turned down for not having enough source material. As he put it, "Then I'll just create the source material." During the 8/14 Friday Road Show, Miyazaki also shared that his goal wasn't just to adapt the manga into a film, but to tell a story uniquely suited for the manga format.
